As I was working out this morning (yes!) and considering the ideas for music sessions, I looked at the wall of flatscreen TVs. The screens were elevated in such a way that had a slight effect of connecting with me. I was not listening or watching, just casually observing as I had my headphones on. There was an array of several shows going at once–a cheerful at home cook sharing her latest kid-friendly meal, what looked like another reality show about reality shows, a home improvement show, yet another talk show, and then some football highlights. As I was getting my sweat on and praying too, listening to some Gary Keesee, it came to me that all of those people are special. God made them in His image. And wherever they are, God loves them.
Think about this again. He made them all, and He made you too.
Let me ask you a question: Have you contemplated how much God loves you?
In that brief moment, I had a revelation that His divinity was shining as a light through those people whatever their faiths. Within their ability to be their best selves, our God was there. He in essence was their talents expressed
As I am writing this I think of a scripture from Proverbs 22:2 The rich and the poor have this in common: The LORD is Maker of them all.
And looking it up here is another: Job 31:15
Did not He who made me in the womb also make them? Did not the same One form us in the womb?
Another scripture say: The poor man and the oppressor have this in common: The LORD gives light to the eyes of both.
Let me ask another question: Why is that important?
God wants to know and redeem US ALL. We are his children. In the story of the prodigal son, the scripture says the son ‘came to himself’ and decided to return home to his Father. What does that mean?? He realized his err and decided then he needed to go where he could at least me taken care of as a servant. His father in the story like our Father has more for us than that. Like the prodigal son our Father wants to take us back in and love on us all and lift us up. All of us. Yes, all of us. YOU ARE HIS FAVORITE. I am His favorite. We are ALL HIS FAVORITE. It is up to us to be prudent, choose to accept His love, and come in out of the rain and get away from the pigs!
Even when we disagree with the principles a person has, this does not change who that person is. Or who we are. WE ARE THE CHILDREN OF THE MOST HIGH GOD.
