During a dark time when I was looking for encouragement, I went and really focused on God. During that time, I looked for scriptures that inspired me and spoke to the ongoing promises I have in mind for my family. Sometimes as Mothers, we do not perform self care as we should and we are the last ones to love ourselves properly. Writing these posts is a reminder of encouragement for myself and to share hope and love for you. You are enough. Making a habit of reading God’s Word every day is part of our soul self care.
Here is a list of precious promises that I continue to feed my soul with and build my faith. Let the weak say they are strong. The scriptures below are the KJV, which is the version I tend to read most.
6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
This scripture reminds me that I am to drop the weight of worry about my family over onto God. We cannot resolve the problems and fears on our own. The great and wonderful thing is when we feel overwhelmed we can take the word and drop these problems to get into trusting the Lord for the answer. Put the Word first in your life. God knows what to do. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

13 And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children.
14 In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.
Speaking words of hope and promise over your children daily and see the change and growth that takes place. God is Good.
9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
This one in particular is a good reminder in times when we may feel like giving up.
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
5. Psalm 23
23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
103 Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
17 But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children;
Read these scriptures slowly to take it all in. Sometimes we can gloss over how powerful the promises really are.
7. Psalm 91:1-2
91 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
